A: i like eating hotpots even during summer. you can eat alot of vegtables and pork and it has a balanced diet.

Q: what are the things that sits around in your room that you can't throw away ?
A: letters. i have quite a lot, and even the ones i got a long time ago, i can't throw them away.

Q: what do you want to do over the summer ?
A: i want to go to the beach. i go to the beach once a year. i don't do marine sports, but i go to my friends place which is beside the beach and just relax.

Q: what is your memorable summer holiday homework ?
A: i did a research about japanese famouse haiku. and i realized that there are 100 most famous haiku's in japan, and so i had to do a reseach on all 100 haikus....and during the summer i regret that i decided to do that research (lol)

Q: what makes you peaceful ?
A: music. i listen to music in my bedroom when i go to sleep.

Q: what made you touched recently ?
A: i heard there was a lot of people who lined up to buy the tickets of "honey and clover" for the day i went to introduce the film. i was very touched.

Q: what made you cry recently ?
A: when i go to locations for magomago arashi, sometimes grandma's look like they are about to cry....and that makes me want to cry too.

Q: what made you mad recently ?
A: i had a day off the other day, and i decided to go out shopping in the afternoon....but i fell asleep, and when i woke up it was alreay past their opening time....and i got mad at my self (lol)

A: my grandmother came to watch the concert the other day. and few days later, she sent me a letter and i felt loved <3

Q: what made you surprise recently ?
A: i buy CD's all at once......the other day i found stacks of CD's that haven't opened yet. i was surprised at my self for buying so many CD's at once, and i was also surprised that i totally forgot (lol)

A: i write them at my home, or i stay at a hotel room to write it.

Q: what is your favorite stamina menu for the summer ?
A: i guess the vitamin pills i take. i take it all the time not only during the concert tour.

Q: what are the things that sits around in your room that you can't throw away ?
A: basically, i can't throw away things people gave me. Like the signed volleyball that the players gave us during the first volleball tournament we cheered for, and the uniform Magic Johnson gave me, and beach flag Morris Green gave me. its really valuable, but i don't know where to keep them (lol)

Q: what do you want to do over the summer ?
A: i'll do it after the summer (lol) basically during the summer my schedule is filled with the concert tour. i'll do my own stuff after thats done.

Q: what is your memorable summer holiday homework ?
A: i killed the snails with salt water. i experimented in which % of salt they start to die. if i think back now, its really gross. but at that time i only felt bad that i killed the snails.

Q: what makes you peaceful ?
A: the time before i go to sleep. i feel so relaxed when im

A: I don't remember what i ate, but its all very good. it's just that im so busy that i can't remember what i ate (lol)

Q: what is your favorite stamina menu for the summer ?
A: EEL! because you get strength from it. on the day of eel (there a day in japan where you are supposed to eat eel) i bought myself a unadon at a supermarket.

Q: what are the things that sits around in your room that you can't throw away ?
A: the plastic bags from convinience stores....i keep them thinking i might need them to throw away trash...but now its just piling up (lol)

Q: what do you want to do over the summer ?
A: i've been to the sea once already this year, but i want to go again. and i also want to BBQ and do fireworks.

Q: what is your memorable summer holiday homework ?
A: i made a wooden house once. but i did the same thing over and over again during my time at elementary school (lol) teachers change, so no one noticed (lol)

Q: what makes you peaceful ?
A: reading books. it could be about anything, ill just stick one in my bag, and i read it when im bored.

A: i had a opportunity to talk with Uekusa-san about johnnys jimusho the other day. we talked about really old stuff, and there was a lot that i didn't know. (uekusa is a member of the shonentai)

A: i love the song "kawa no nagare no youni" by misora hibari-san. and my friend sang that at karaoke the other day. it was really good and i felt like crying.

A: i was on my car the other day, and i got stuck at the highway pay place....and i got pissed off

A: a 10 year old boy came to our concert, and he said that "you guys were cooler than harry potter !" (lol) i felt happy because adults don't have thoughts like this (lol) <3

A: aiba-chan's hair before its styled looks like a jr.'s hair style...its so flat and he looks like a jr (lol)

Q: what do you want to do with your hair after the concert ?
A: right now i have a hair extension on, but i want to take it off (lol) its really hard having it because it gets tangled up.

Q: what kind of progress did you make by being on "utawara" ?
A: used to listen to people's ideas with a negative view, but now i try to have a positive view too. and i started to give importance on the "flow" of the talk.

Q: what makes you worry recently ?
A: im not worried, but im always thinking about the concert these days and how to make it better.

Q: i heard you are the "do-S bancho", but what kind of episodes shows that you are do-S ?
A: i was playing mini soccer with aiba-chan during a photo shoot of another magazine. and the ball i kicked hit aiba-chan's face diretly (lol) i think he was hurt, but before i was apologizing, i was laughing my ass off (lol) and i thought oops (lol)

Q: what is your favorite stamina menu for the summer ?
A: well, i don't really loose stamina during the summer, so i don't really have one. besides, during summer the studio and the concert rooms have airconditioning, so it's really cold.

Q: what are the things that sits around in your room that you can't throw away ?
A: i normally throw away things that i don't need. so there isn't anything that i don't need in my room.

Q: what do you want to do over the summer ?
A: i want to maintain my health. during concert tours, even though i becareful, there are times that i get injured. so i want to maintain my health.

Q: what is your memorable summer holiday homework ?
A: i never did my homework....my teacher got mad at me, but all they can do was get mad at me on the first day we got back to school. but i remember that i grew morning glory during summer.

Q: what makes you peaceful ?
A: holidays (lol) although i don't have any (lol) i like not doing anything and just sit around.

Q: what made you touched recently ?
A: hmm....i don't get touched easily, so i can't think of anything. people say "wow, how was your experience at hollywood?" but for me its not a big deal, and its the same working in japan, so i wasn't really touched/moved during my stay in LA too.....

Q: what made you cry recently ?
A: i haven't cried recently. its only happens once a year or so for me. and it hasn't come yet this year.

Q: what made you mad recently ?
A: i've been upset quite a few times recently. you know how sometimes people have to be pissed off, or there needs to be someone thats "grumpy" at work to make work speed up and progress. so i act as if "nino has a bad attitude since he came back from LA" and so i get mad at people for other people too.

Q: what made your heart beat faster recently ?
A: nothing.....you can't have a heart beating so fast all the time...(lol)

Q: what made you surprise recently ?
A: that i wasn't tired after doing three concert a day. i was also surprised that our manager made us do three concert a day (lol)

A: aiba-kun just said "hey, did you know that one of the member of in*sinc was gay?!" (lol)

A: i haven't thought of it yet

A: nothing....i can't buy a new computer because i use programs that doesn't work on normal OS. i think the computer i own now will be my last one (TT)

A: nothing yet. but i love the comic so i've read it before.

A: nope, i just write.

Q: what is your favorite stamina menu for the summer ?
A: during the summer, i always eat noodle like soba and ramen, especiall on the day we have concerts! what i like, is my stamina menu!

Q: what are the things that sits around in your room that you can't throw away ?
A: well.....there isn't much things that sit around in my room, so naturally i can't throw anything away. my room is quite empty other than the stuff i use. the only furniture i need is my bed and i don't need anything else.

Q: what do you want to do over the summer ?
A: i will make my 100th clay object!

Q: what is your memorable summer holiday homework ?
A: well....i never really remember doing homework at all....and especially experiments. good kids like yourself shouldn't copy me!

Q: what makes you peaceful ?
A: my friend. we make our clay art together, and we talk about stupid stuff but that makes me feel peaceful. it's nice having a friend who has the same hobby as you.

Q: what made you touched recently ?
A: i feel touched when im looking at my clay objects. i like looking at the ones that went well.

A: when the fans looked like they really need me during the concert. i like the feeling when someone needs me.

A: i heard matsujun's hair extension is almost falling off.

Q: what is your favorite piece of art you made so far ?
A: each one of them are my favorite. for the clay objects, their faces are exactly the same, but their clothing and hair style is different. recently, i made one that looks like johnny depp (lol)

Q: the places you visited during magomago arashi, which city was the most memorable ?
A: the city where i visited the figure museum ! i talked with the guy who opens the museum about figures and how to make them!

Q: whats the most important thing you have to do before you sing ?
A: to eat! if you sing without eating, you get a nausea! but if you eat too much, you feel sick. so eating something like soba is good.

Q: what do you think about people calling you "captain" ?
A: nothing, im surprised that im so natural with being called captain ! (lol)

i'll translate the part where the five of them were all talking together. I might post up the solo interviews later if anyone's interested.

"The secrets that members only know of....Arashi's Concert Secret Talk x5"
*the members say they love concerts. Surely, the five look very happy during the concert, but sometimes they are laughing or giggling for no reason...or mouthing words we can't really hear....what was happening to them?!"

*Although they got the meals they yearned for......*
sakurai: at hokkaido, we ate jingiskhan right ? (jingiskhan = lamb stew)
aiba: yeah yeah yeah! it was so good!
matsumoto: although we ate is at a fairly late time (lol)
sakurai: i think the staff were just going to order room service at the hotel first....but when we got their, we decided we wanted to eat something "hokkaido-ish" so we started to sing the song "jin-jin-jingiskhan~" during the whole concert rehersal (lol) so the staff will notice (lol) but by the time the rehersal was over, it was part midnight so the five of us were like...."maybe not..." (lol)
ninomiya: we were the ones who were singing, so there wasn't a reason not to go (lol)
sakurai: no one said anything and said "oishii ne (delicious)!"......but don't you think room service was okay ? (lol)
ninomiya: true (lol) to show that, everyone left the restaurant as soon as they finished eating (lol)
aiba: but it was really good.
sakurai: but you know that restaurant, i think it was closed before we got there (lol)
ohno: they opend the place just for us ?! no wonder the chef was so low tension (lol)
aiba: during hiroshima concert we ate hiroshima okonomiyaki and played soccer game remember ?
matsumoto: when you guys were playing video games, i was outside with the jr.'s playing real soccer. i was just kicking the ball to exercise, then the jr.'s joined in.
sakurai: oh really ? i heard that you were "kicking around" the jr.'s later on (lol)
aiba: they were saying that you mistaken them instead of the ball (lol) .....matsumoto-kun is really scary ! (lol)
matsumoto: i will never do such a thing ! (lol)
ohno: i was batteling with sho-kun. but im not going to do it anymore. he improved so much, he beat the heck out of me.
sakurai: well, i have a game master called ninomiya-san behind me. during the traveling time i was playing against him, and gradually i got better. and i told him that i beat ohno-kun, then he told me "good job" (lol)
ninomiya: well you're just a beginner for me tho.
ohno: there was a long time since we did a concert at yokohama arena ! it brought back old memories!
aiba: even during the 3concert a day period, we were so high we didn't really feel tired. although we dropped dead at the train back home. (lol)
sakurai: one thing i noticed is that there were a group of russian fans at the first row during yokohama. i noticed there were a bunch of caucasian ladies at the front and i read their sign saying......
ninomiya: "I LOVE RUSSIA" (lol)
all: laugh
ninomiya: oh, and the "love" was a love heart (lol)
aiba: we never really discussed it during the concert. a few hours before we were talking about it saying "you notied too?" (lol) normally wouldn't you have a sign saying "I LOVE JAPAN" ? (lol)
ninomiya: or they can be slightly nicer and say "I LOVE ARASHI" (lol)
sakurai: if they wanted to say something about themselves...it will be "I AM RUSSIA".....but we can't do a thing even they told us they love russia (lol)
matsumoto: they probably wanted to say that they are a bigger fan of Russia more than us (lol)
ninomiya: nahhh, impossible! i think there was a guy among the jr.'s who were back dancing for us called, "RUSSIA" (lol)

*Sakurai didn't know what to do with the crying fan...*
ninomiya: oh yeah, and i remember this girl with sho-kun's uchiwa started crying the moment we got on stage.
matsumoto: i was so surprised ! (lol) because that girl was dancing while she was crying (lol) but then she couldn't keep on dancing because she was crying so much (lol)
sakurai: i did my best, but she won't stop crying so i felt like i was doing something wrong.....
ohno: i always feel thankful to the fans.
sakurai: you know, its apparent now we talk like this. us five are mostly looking at the same spot during the concert ! (lol)
ninomiya: yeah really.
sakurai: does it mean that we get along well ? (lol)
aiba: and you guys (fans) might not know, but we can see very clearly from the stage you know.
sakurai: so you guys have to be fancy when you're coming to the concert !
matsumoto: yeap, if you are coming to both of the concert on the same day, you have to go home after the first one to change clothes (lol)

*Ohno's mumbling on stage?*
matsumoto: my ear monitor for the concert is on the same channel with ohno-san, so i can hear him all the time, but most times he's saying weird stuff (lol) For example, during the song "gorimuchu", theres a line called "honjitsu wa seitennari" (today its going to be sunny!), and after he sings that line, he mumbles "its going to shine!" (lol) which has nothing to do with the song (lol)
all: laugh
ohno: oh.....you can hear that ?
all: laugh again
ninomiya: if you didn't know that he (matsumoto) could hear it, who were you saying it too ?! (lol)
ohno: well ~ i just want to say it....like during the song "kansha kangeki ame arashi", "smile again ~ arigatoo" then i say "ARASHI" (lol)
ninomiya: thats the part the fans say ! why are you saying that ?
matsumoto: he was also saying something weird during "pikanchi double".....i couldn't sing properly because of him (lol)
ninomiya: im on the same channel with sho-kun.
sakurai: did i say something as well?
ninomiya: not really, but you sometimes don't sing at all....especially during the encore, you just say "hi hi hi!" to pump up the fans (lol)
aiba: i noticed that too (lol)
sakurai: well ~ concert is all about being high tension! (lol)
ninomiya: i guess. i think concert is the only place where people could see you like that.

*Aiba is suitable for musicals ?*
aiba: i don't have anyone on my channel, but i normally sing everything.
sakurai: you even sing other people's part (lol)
aiba: you can hear my voice more than you can on CD's (lol)
sakurai: he even sings the part where me and him don't sing, and it seems like i'm slacking off not doing work, but that's not true!
aiba: thats how concerts go!
sakurai: you know some people sing other people's song during karaoke ? he is like that (lol)
ninomiya: aiba-san cannot "not" sing. when he's excited, he has to make it in tune.
matsumoto: oh, then you should do musicals!
ninomiya: thats what i was thinking for a while!
sakurai: if you go through all the concert DVD's, you can see how much aiba-chan is singing (lol)
matsumoto: but the PA(microphone system) staff knows when we are supposed to sing, so they turn off our voice during the times when we are not supposed to sing (lol)
aiba: well, its not the matter whether or not i get heard. im just trying to be high so it doesn't matter.
ohno: thats true. i never knew my mumbling was also heard, but thats okay. thats live concerts !
sakurai: ohno-san, how positive are you today ? (lol)

matsumoto: nino is always playing games, right before the concert starts.
sakurai: right, he plays the game with un-styled hair, so i say "nino, don't you have to get ready?"....and the next moment his hair is done (lol)

sakurai: we style our hair ourselves, but im always surprised by nino's speed!
ninomiya: well.....because the topic is on hair.....leader goes out on stage with a hair style he shouldn't...(lol) his back hair is like...sticking out (lol)

ohno: eh? my hair is really like that ?
sakurai: but leader, you always check the back of your head too right ? i've seen you do that.
ohno: yeah. im always being careful.

ninomiya: matsujun always slips during the concert....he did it during this tour already.
aiba: i've heard that, but i've never really seen him slip my self.
matsumoto: its because of the CO2 machine (smoke machine)....the floor is black, and the machine is black, so i didn't know where the smoke was coming from, and i slipped with the smoke right under my shoes.
sakurai: are you serious ? isn't is quite embarassing to slip during the concert ?
matsumoto: of course. and it wasn't even during a song.....i was during the coda of the last line of the song....and it wasn't a slip....i actually fell down, and i still have a bruise inside my toe nail (lol)
all: laugh
sakurai: thats a.....quite large "slip" (lol)
ninomiya: and it was during his solo....
aiba: even then, you just stand up and act "cool" ?
matsumoto: .............yes.............(lol)
sakurai: well, thats actually the only thing you can do (lol)

ninomiya: and you can't really pretend for so long that you are hurt......
matsumoto: if i act like i was hurt, then people will start to worry (lol)
aiba: i slipped during a outdoor concert too. when you fall down so hard, even the fans can't laugh and they kinda stare at you........(lol) but i have to make sure i won't do it again.
matsumoto: the summer has just began! i like this summers tour because we use up the whole summer
ohno: at the end of august we are coming back to yokohama to do another three days, and after that we are going overseas, so we'll "ganbaru" until then!

comment: i think fans should think of weirder uchiwa's to make arashi totally confused. (lol)

AIBA MASAKI
Captain is mostly very quiet and gentle. And he always puts in so much effort.....theres a clear line between when he is "off" and "on". I think im similar to him in that sense.....we'll maybe everyone is like that. Especially these three (Aiba, Sakurai, Ohno) (lol) And thats why we get along so well. We work together during the day, and when we're done, we go out for drinks together. It's so weird because when we say "bai bai", we know that we're going to see each other again in a few hours time again for work (lol) I love that kind of relationship. I can't get enough of it!
Nino is the most childish out of the five (lol) When we start playing video games, it's always nino who pulls us in (lol) Nino and I get together and say "okay lets do it"....and the other three will join in soon or later. It's the same when we go bowling...its always him and me. So he's my starting point. And i've also never see nino tired. I don' think he shows that he's tired in front of me. Even if he is actually tired, if i ask him to play video games with me...he joins. Well, maybe he's trying to hide it from me.....not hide, but he doesn't show it delibrately. I just this thats his character. But i know he's a very sensitive guy.
Sho-kun and i get along so well....and he is such an idiot (lol) We are so similar......like the actions we take. When we just formed Arashi, this fortune teller looked at the stars of Arashi. And the other three were all different, but sho-kun and I were on the same star. Back then, i thought we weren't similar at all.....but now i see why (lol) I think the lady who looked at our star is a genius (lol) In the past few years, its been apparent how much sho-kun and I are similar. The difference between our "on" and "off" is also the same! We go crazy during our "off" (lol)
Matsujun....i found out i like him quite a lot. Our perspectives are very different....and so when i hear what he says, i think realize that there are a lot of different ways to look at things. I think noticing those stuff is really important....and its good that we have members who are totally different....or else its not fun. Because we have been spending our time together, now i can roughly guess his thought on one thing. It's fun being with him because he has such a different view compared to me. Our drinking style is also very different (lol) He takes so long! (lol) I think thats fun too (lol) We always spill stuff too (lol) And i don't really get pissed off at it too....its like "AGAIN?" (lol) Deep down, he is such a kind guy. I'm not sure if i can say this....but he is quite different from what he shows as his "character" on the outside. I think thats important since our job need a side like that. And i want him to remain like he is now....and thats why i like him!

MATSUMOTO JUN
Ohno Satoshi - Kun even i can't explain his personality and what he's like (lol) He doesn't really say his feelings or what he's thinking inside. But he gave me a text message 2 minutes before the last day of my butai. I think he wrote it with nino.....what it said ? It said "Congratulations for your last show! It's a party tonight!" (lol) I think it's only the members i can accept these kind of stuff. Normally, i hate emails or phone calls right before the opening of a stage. But i love it when its from a member. Because they know what im doing, and what im feeling before the stage. Knowing what im going through......they cheer me up. Oh....also, although he doesn't say anything, he is always keeping an eye on us. I admire him in that sense. I also keep an eye on everyone else, and watch them....but i can't keep what i think to my self....so i say it out loud. But he doesn't.....and i admire that.
Sakurai Sho - Kun ....I've been listening to Arashi songs since the concert is coming up, and naturally i would listen to a lot of the raps he wrote. We started writing the rap lyrics half way through Arashi's music carrer....and he has been doing it since then. And when i listen to the old songs, i can see a big improvement. I think the way he uses words are very unique and original. I'm not sure what he thinks of his own piece of work, but from my point of view, his work is always "new" and original. We (the four) never write rap lyrics, but even we can see the improvement these days.
Aiba Masaki - Kun he always had this talent to make the air relaxed....but thesedays, he's learning from his senpai "shimura ken"san, which is adding another level to his talent. By absorbing new techniques, he is adding a new side to Arashi. For example, he never used to say opinions for our show, but thesedays, he often makes advice on how we can make the show more interesting and fun. He has his own opinion and views on how we wants the show to become, and thats great because I was the only one who used to push foward "arashi's" opinion. The advice he says are useful and his ideas are actually great......well, he has always been the most stupid genius (lol)
Ninomiya Kazunari - Kun this is my personal impression, but i think nino changed quite a lot since he went to LA. He was always "buoyant", and there were sides of him that he never showed to people. But since he came back, i think he's starting to show those things to us bit by bit. I have this feeling that he's filled with power right now.....and accelarating. I think he has good flow, and im happy to see that. One thing i can say about nino is that he loves to have fun with the five of us, but he draws a clear line between the time we can fool around, and the times we have to be severe. I've been feeling that recently, and i love it because i like working in a serious atmosphere.

NINOMIYA KAZUNARI
Let's start off with captain shall we ? Captain is a very kind person. Even if it's the most unpleasant job....we will do it when it needs to get done. That's the type of person he is. Also....he keeps on telling me thesedays that he wants a chainsaw.....but i don't get him at all (lol) He's kind but he's also a weirdo...(lol) It's not like i understand everything about him. This goes for the rest of the member....but everyone in Arashi keeps a certain distance from each other. Because they are all kind, nice mannered people, they instictly know that its not good to be "too much" for someone. Things won't be the same if we are too close. I'm there are a lot of things i don't know about the member. For example, if someone was in a bad mood, no one asks why, but they just leave them alone. During variety shows, if the members didn't look like they want to talk about the topic, we jsut move on. Well........sometimes we do the opposite to make them piss off (lol) But i don' really analyse too much, so its hard for me to answer questions like "what kind of personality does the members have?". My opinion changes from time to time. It's like the weather. You can't really say "they are like this". So if the weather report is not correct....people get angry right ? (lol) So i'd rather keep quiet. I can say something superficial like "oh he's stupid" or "he's a genius"....but if i have to be serious about them, i can't say anything thoughtless.
So if there was something i could say about the members right now.....what could i say ? During the first 4 month of this year, i was working alone for the most of time...it was only since may we got back together to work as a five. Don't you guys wonder what i was doing ? On my own for such a long time (lol) I'm having the greatest time with them right now. I realized how great Arashi is, when i saw the variety shows of four of them while i was in LA. Even though i wasn't there, during their talk, there were gaps where i would have said something. I think the four felt weird doing the shows on their own, but as a viewer of the show, i felt like nothing changed. They didn't change the style just because i wasn't there, and they did it the usual "arashi" way. I felt really happy by it. I felt like i had room to go back. So it's actually nice to work on solo because i can be remined that im not alone. I have a place to go back and the four are always with me.

OHNO SATOSHI
Sho - kun, its really fun watching him thesedays...(lol) I think he's going totally nuts thesedays (lol) He's really funny. He keeps on saying what he thinks. Like...."ahhh... i slept so much"...."darn i slept for so long"...."i slept so much!" (lol) He keeps on saying it over and over again (lol) "AH! that was really fun" "it was fucking fun" "gosh that was..." So it's really easy to tell what he's thinking (lol) I'd think wow, he must have slept for a long time...or wow, he must had so much fun (lol) I don't think he notices but he's really saying the same thing over and over again...(lol) And thats fun to watch (lol) He's really high tension for most of the time thesedays....or sleeping. He's the funniest thing for Arashi right now (lol)
Matsujun, is a very busy guy. He does dramas, butais, movies, all at once! Right now he's doing the filming of the movie and also doing the concert rehersals....All of those at once, i won't be able to handle it (lol) Matsujun gets bombarted with jobs....which are mostly acting jobs.....and i think i won't be able to do that. I have to get them one by one (lol) well, its not that i couldn't do it, but.....i can't imagine my self handling it well. So matsujun is a very tough guy. He keeps an eye on everything, and i think he's the most grown up among Arashi. He's always concentrating on his job.
Nino, never changes....i was really happy when i noticed that he hasn't changed a bit since he came back from LA. I think he has this "core" himself, and that never changes. He still plays games all the time. And his actions never change as well. I'm sure he's changing inside. He's going through a lot and maturing while he experience a lot of different jobs, but that doesn't show on the outside. So when you just see his actions, he never change since he was a kid. But im sure he has grown a lot inside.
Aiba-chan, is the type of person who thinks a lot. You can tell from his expressions. Unlike the other three, his inside shows on the outside, so its easy for me to tell what he's going through. When he's happy, when he's down.....i think he's the easiest....wait....no, im the easiest to tell (lol) I show everything on my expressions (lol) But on the otherside, i think he's one of the smartest. He can change is thinking quickly from one another. When he's not thinking, he's really not thinking about anything (lol) But when he is, he thinks deeply.

SAKURAI SHO
Nino, doesn't change at all right ? Even though he goes to hollywood....it can't change him. And i think thats his strength. Now i have great confidence that he won't change no matter what. Recently, we call his sarcastic comments the "devil's comments" (lol) Naturally, he's the devil (lol) I like those comments. A turning point for the "devil comment" was the comment he made during "G no Arashi" when we were making pickled straberries.....he said they look like a granny's nipples (lol) And that was a revolution inside me(lol) He uses words that i will never come up with (lol) I think......our perspectives and what we see is the same, but the output is drastically different between nino and me. So thats really interesting for me.
I spend most time with Aiba-chan thesedays. We're together during work...and after that we go out to have drinks....I'm with will "on" and "off" (lol) I think we are becoming more like....pure friends. You know how old people become like babies after a certain time ? Their maturing stops and it rewinds back. We used to be colleges....but thats rewinding, and now we are jsut basically becoming friends.
Matsumoto-kun changed over the past year or so. Like how he wore the stocking during "G no Arashi". He would have never done that if this was a few years before. I think he's relaxed more and taking things easy. I've noticed that during the past year and i love how he's becoming more.....relaxed.
Ohno-kun is really an artist. During the movie shooting of "kiiroi namida" he showed me his clay work.....and it really.....turned me off....it was so good and realistic (lol) I've noticed that he's doing quite a lot of reading thesedays, but its all about art (lol) So i always think he's an artist. He sometimes talk about doing a art exibition. I wish he does it soon, because i really want people to see his work. The other day, we were playing games, and ohno-kun got bored and started playing with clay....And i realized he was just staring at us. So i asked him what he was doing....then he said "i was wondering how people are shaped...."..........I can't even communicate with him when it comes to art (lol) I think he's moving with his senses. And i love that.
Group wise, i think there is a big differnce before and after nino was gone. We were doing solo works for the past few month, and i thought we will get bored of each other during the promotion of kitto daijyobu and the summer concert tour, but we're not bored at all (lol) They are just interesting and fun people (lol) I'm having a lot of fun too. I guess our group is in a very good place right now. Of course right ? Because we're in the second chapter !

SHO SAKURAI
The song in this years album, "Cool&Soul". I'm glad that i was able to write a all-rap song "of Arashi", "in Arashi's Album", which is about Arashi sang by Arashi themselves. I'm happy its out in public like this.....somehow i feel settled.
I Like EXPRESSION
Sakurai takes his time to think deeply to reply any interview. He pick his words carefully to express his emotions and thoughts.
His sincere attitude, and the phrases that are picked out of million words, shows how much he loves "expressing himself by words".
Other than interviews, Sakurai play with words to write the lyrics of Arashi's rap, which he has been charge of since day one.
"I write the lyrics with words that come out from myself" - like he speaks, Sakurai's rap lyrics are filled with originality.
You will feel Sakurai's love towards words during this interview.
Since his youth Sakurai has been attracted to words, writing too many pages for homework, and now he shows interest in "choice of words....which holds a deeper meaning." He shows interest towards copywriters and comments of politicians, looking for "hidden" meaning behind the words. And yet his desire to "express" himself goes on........
I Like to express myself with words. Now i have interest in choice of words that holds a deeper meaning.
What i liked since i was small ? Then maybe.....words. I didn't want to write when i was in elementary school....around 11years old or 12years old. It was because, when i start writing, i can't stop (lol) The homework only requires 2pages of written work....but i keep on going for 6, 7pages......and by the time im done, im exausted. So i didn't want to write.....but i guess i liked writing and expressing myself with words, and thats why i wrote too much. My grade for japanese was always good. I had a friend who could only get C's for japanese, but i helped him study for exams, and he got his first A after that.....so i guess i liked writing and grammer (lol) But its not always a good thing to like words and expression when im doing "this" kind of job. During interviews.....i pick my words carefully....and i take my time. So i can't stand it when the writer/editor changes the words i use......I pick the best words to describe my emotions at the time.....so when its changed, it might mean something completly different.....and worst times, i sound like im being very offensive. Because i've experienced that, i have some fear towards replying to interviews. Since i became Arashi, i've answered millions of interviews, and i've checked whats actually printed on paper....So i have to be careful of what kind of words i use. And thats hard. Can i change the topic ? I recently felt that what i want to do, is a copywriter. Although its impossible....well not totally impossible. I want to challenge expressing one topic in say....10 words. I just thought of that during make up, right now (lol) I'm not sure why, but i want to challege doing something like a copywriter. I guess its similar to my fasination to "words". When im with my friends ? I never pick words when im around with my friends. Because....i talk using rahter....rough words (lol) Around people i open my heart to, i don't talk politely. I guess its because i don't need to pick my words or to be careful of what i say.
When im picking the words i use for rap lyrics, i like to use positive words in a negative connotation and vise versa. I like to play around with words like that. Expressions like that are used a lot in the rap lyrics of "cool&soul", the song in the new album. For example, the phrase matsujun sang "mamori too su yatsura dato iwakutsuki...." (trans: they are the ones who protect whatsoever) and the word "iwakutsuki", is normally used with a negative connotation right ? thats why i dared to use it as a good meaning. just by saying those five words, people will think "those guys are so protective of their comrades to a point where people will take in negatively". I like playing with words like this. I used to rhyme words one by one, like "kitto daijyobu" its used in "~baby" "~goteinei" "~meirei" but one word only. But now i've notived that words itself carry rhythms, and you can use them with out rhyming the words one by one. I started breaking down words, and find rhythms between words. For example the phrase "sora ni twilight".....theres the vowel "a" and "i" three times, so i make rhythm with it. I've been analysing words a lot to write rap. When i first started writing rap, i used to always bring a memopad with me, and if i find some interesting words on advertisements and stuff, i will write it down. But usually, i never use those words. So now, i just use the words that come out from my self after i listen to the song. Words, rhythm, expession.....i love them all. This may sound absurd, but i've always loved to read about politics. And i love to see what the cabinet ministers say in their official comments. When you see the explanation of their comments, there write stuff like "they are trying to restraint the opposition pary" or "they have started to compromise to the...". The words they spoke were only few sentences long, but there is so much meaning in it, and so much is stuffed in that short sentences. So im very interested in how they manage to do that. I've learned to express my own feeling with my words, and im roughly satisfied with it, but i want to challenge on expressing something that has a little bit more depth to it. I've always wondered how they do it, so i would like to do it my self. Some of those ministers are so good with the choice of words, and im impressed. Despite the fact that i write rap lyrics, i think we have to consider the importance of "words" and "expressions" because our words are listened/read by a lot of people. I don't want words to turn offensive, so i have to pivk words carefully whether or not im using them as my lyrics.

Someone will stand infront....and the rest supporting that. Thats what i want to do during this years stage.
I feel like the view towards Arashi has changed greatly during this year. Especially me. And i think everyone "grew" in someway. You have a lot of responsibility and attainment following that for your solo work. So, i feel like all five of us have their own "area" they are responcible for, and we are the "head" of those areas. And when nino was gone, i felt like arashi grew even more. You know that three legged thing that makes ur video camera stand straight ? I think arashi is like that...except we are five legged. Even if we only have four legs, we can still stand on our own. But with the five of us, we are more stable. So when nino was gone, all we could do was do our best without him, but when he came back, i realized how important it was to be with the five of us. When nino came back from the states, i believe Arashi had more confidence in themselves.....and summer came at the best timing. Having done our solo work, we can come together again to spend our time with the five of us during the summer.
I feel i haven't done a concert in a long time, probably because i did my solo concert at the beginning of this year. So i look foward to it more than others. You know how the album has each members featured songs? I love it. It's like how boxing is done.....The boxer is in the ring by him self, but everyone else will be watching around the ring, and between each round someone will come up to support him by giving water.....(lol) I like this kind of support, so rather then just plain solo, i want it to be solo-ish. I want someone to be infront, but the other four will also be supporting. I think this is new for arashi since we were totally on our own for solo's, and when we were with the five, we were treated equally. So i hope this new strategy.......where someone will stand infront, and the rest supporting that, will work this year. I want to show that both the solo works and the work as "arashi" are successful. When we have solo work, it just seems like that one person is going on TV or being on a movie, but that success is supported by the hard of work of the other four. And thats always the case. Something really small....like emails of "congratulation for your first day of butai" or if someone stays late for movie shooting emails like "where you filming late yesterday?" will just cheer you up. It's those small things that support you. Those daily life of ours, will relate to the album, and will show during the performance of the concert. And i can't say anything further because we are still in the middle of discussion of the concert.
When i was writing the lyrics of "cool&soul" for the album, i felt really glad that i can write a song about arashi in arashi's album which will be sang by arashi themselves. I felt relieved. I was able to express my feelings.........so maybe thats why im relieved. But it took me a long time to write the lyrics for "cool&soul". I had to think until right before the recording.........but when i started writing....i couldn't stop (lol) And thats how i wrote the lyrics. In the lyrics, i expressed my confidence & proud feeling towards arashi and the kind of music arashi has been doing. I think my feeling towards arashi will be the same with the rest of them, so i guess i was able to write the lyrics as "arashi" not as "sakurai sho". I've always wanted to write a song about Arashi and Arashi's music. But i didn't want to make it as my production. If i make the song as a individual, the song will end up being "mine" not "arashi's". And I didn't want to use the same words for my songs and the songs for Arashi's album. So i could never start writing until this time. And i gues this was the best timing to write a song like this. In "cool&soul" theres a lyric that says "soshite korekara dainisyou" (trans: and the curtain rises for the second chapter..). Last year, i would have said that the second chapter was the year 2005, when we produced a album with solo songs. But this year, i feel like the year 2006 is the second chapter for arashi's music. Everyone is sining almost every part of the album, and therefore, this year is arashi's second chapter.
Also..........to my fans.......I've said this over and over, but during my solo concert, i was so pleased with my audience. (lol) I was like "wow....my girls are exellent!"....their call&response, atmosphere, everything ! I was truly surpised by how exellent my fans are (lol) So right now, im looking foward to see how "exellent" arashi fans are. So what i want to say is....let's have fun together! oh, and one thing i remember from last year's concert is that there were a lot of people crying during "subarashiki sekai". I'm not sure why they were crying, but if we were able to touch someone's heart by our concert, im very glad. So this year, we'll be trying to make the audience feel happy and fun, and also we will try to send a message to people who comes to the concert.

SATOSHI OHNO
"I like making things. Acting, dance, my hobbies. I like to imagine and create them my self. Recently, at last, those imagination in me are becoming true.....in reality."
I Like CREATION
His hobbies expanded fields from the two dimentional paintings to 3D clay objects. He uses tender but bold expressions during stage plays.
On concert stage he dances like he has wings (and also does the choreography), and during variety shows he uses his quick reaction to make people laugh. Because there is such a big gap from his normal self; gentle and quiet, people say that he is born with a "special talent".
But Ohno Satoshi's talents are supported by his effort and hard work. Although he disagrees to this saying "me ? effort? no way (lol)", after reading this interview, everyone will agree that he is a man of effort.
"First, i just imagine"......his performance on the last day of the stageplay, or the final product of his work of art.
Then to reach those final destinations, he puts in great effort during the process making a bet whether he can reach, or even exceed his imagination. "i don't like to be binded by something that already exists" he says, and concentrates to reach the goal "his way".
As he speaks "recently, those imagination inside me are becoming true....in reality.", we cannot help but hope to see more in the future.
Not just my hobby....dancing, acting - I like creating them by myself
What i like.....? I love my hobbies (lol) I just like to "make" stuff since i was a little kid. Basically, i just loved to fool around with toys, and i think that links to why i love making stuff with clay. It started from calligraphy....then moved to painting....I was especially good at calligraphy. I think i was the best among the people who were learning at my school. It was really fun....and im the type of person who tries harder when they are given some credit for it (lol) When people are told that they are good at something, they become happy and try harder. When i was small, i had a friend who was really good at drawing...and that made me interested in drawing....and i've been doing it ever since. Now im starting to use clay and wood too.
Not just my hobby, even dancing and acting i love to "create" them myself. For example, i love imagining the things thats not on the script. I like to dose off thinking...."his mother probably died when he was young....so thats why he thinks like this" or "the story ends on this day, but what was everyone doing on the next day?".....and stuff. I've been imagining things like this since ever.....you see, im a little HENTAI. (lol) I'm really delusional......(lol) About everything. Like "oh it will be great if it turns out like this..." and "maybe that person is like....", about anyone....including about myself. But recently, those delusions become reality! It actually becomes true. The things im imagining will come true....its obvious when i do butai's. When they give me the script, i imagine about the back-scenes of the character, but i also imagine my self on the last day of stage, and what im doing. and in my imagination, im doing great...its my victory over the play. and real life, im actually doing great, so i think to my self...."wow....i won my bet" (lol) It's a battle between my imagination. So when im making my clay art, i imagine whats its going to look like at the end.....and i wont stop until it reaches that finish line in my imagintion (lol) I don't give up. Same goes for painting. I have this view inside me of how the painting will end up, and i say to my self "i can do it". That way of thinking hasn't changed since im a kid. I won't stop until i reach my goal. I put in more effort than other people ? I don't think so. It's just something i like to do, so its not effort. It's just i won't be satisfied without finishing it. Especially for drawings and clay. And maybe its the same for dancing and acting.
I love "making", but i hate to be "binded" by some rule. For example, i know i will learn new skills and technique if i go to art school, but i feel that i won't be able to think outside the box after i've learnt all those things. My brain will think "this is the only way to do this...". I just want to make the techniques an option. I don't want the techniques to stop me from moving free. It's not like there is a "one best way" to do things, so i try on something i believe is the best way to do things......and i fail....and fail (lol) but thats okay, its just the process for success. I belive those things will create originality to my piece of art. Recently, i have fun coming up with a new way to do things. Something original, that no one has ever done. So right now im planning to make something out of wood...and that's why i need a chainsaw (lol) Cutting wood with a chainsaw.....Yesterday, we were at a hotel for our movie filming.....and i found this wooden chair. I was staring at it for most of the time thinking......how is this thing stuck together ? Spending my time like that....thats what i do these days (lol)
If i think about it, i guess all the stuff i do it generated from my want to create things. That has been expending from drawing, clay....in terms of my job, dancing, acting....Recently, i'm interested in things i wasn't before. I like dancing from the beginning, but im interested in dancing a step further, so thats why i want to do the choreography. I used to dance to something that other people made, but now i try to imagine what i will do, if i had the opportunity to choreograph the song. I want to do it until im satisfied with it. So when im on the train, i move around a little....thinking of the choreography (lol) During that moment, im the "audience" to my dance. I make up the dance in my head, and in my imagination i'm dancing to that choreography....and im watching my self as a audience of that show. Then i go home and actually dance to the choreography.......but i don't have enough endurance to finish it off (lol) and i laugh at my self (lol) It's just recently how these things inside my self has come true in reality. I've always been imagining....but it was only a delusion. But now, i have the power and oppurtunity to make those "delusion" a reality. It's just fun to imagine.....that's enough for me (lol) Thats how much i live imagining stuff. I like imagining and creating.

This year, I want us "five" to create something together. I want people to look at us as a "five" and be impressed by "us"
Last year's highlight was that....moving stage! That was fun! I think the audience was surprised, but we were also surprised too ! (lol) The whole show was interesting, and i remember myself having a lot of fun too. This year, i want to concentrate on creating something with the five of us. I still think the stage set is important too, but i want to impress the audience with just what "we" are doing. Like our dance. I'm sure there will be solo parts, and i can't really say much because its still under discussion, but we are thinking of something that will surprise the audience. (lol) But i also want to dance with the five of us. The album this year has a lot of songs that we can dance to, so im sure the concert will be like that as well. And on top of that, we might include something extra that will make the fans feel happy. I want them to look at us and be proud of us as a five.
We've been doing concerts every year, and im views towards it changed during those years.....Especially because i did my solo concert. I had so much in mind that i wanted to do. When i experience a lot of stuff, that influences my imagination, and so i'll have more and more ideas (lol) And im happy if those imagination become reality. I noticed that solo concerts are very different from Arashi concerts where theres the five of us. It's arashi's concert....so everyone will have different things they want to do and we will discuss that. But it was so fast for the solo because i was the only one on the show. I had my ideas and i was able to make things go my way.....But its harder when theres the five of us. I just came back from a concert discussion, and i've realized how difficult it is for us to talk about the concert. There's five people, so its five times harder compared to the solo concert. I'm sure i'll have songs that i can do the choreography to. I like to do the choreography....because.....i don't have to memorize the dance (lol) Well, not just that.....when i listen to a song, i normally have a broad idea and i want to make that happen. I guess i want to dance by myself, rather than memorize a dance that someone else thought of. But this year its harder....because i've lost all my energy and power....I haven't worked out in ages....and i want to start working out, but i can't because im taking a movie. And it'll be weird if a painter is really macho (lol) It's going to be surreal (lol) My role is a poor painter.....so right now, i can't work out. But i'll be ready for the concert and try my best not to injure anywhere.
About OmiyaSK, we're still in the middle of a discussion.....so i don't know whats going to happen. when we did that for the very first time, i was very nervous. Well, nervous isn't the right word.....it was the first time for arashi to do something funny during a concert. Something comical. When we started doing OMSK for the first time........the audience were shocked....in a bad way (lol) I'm sure they didn't like it at all (lol) I like to surprise the fans, but it was the first time we surprised them with something comical so i didn't know what was going to happen...so i was worried. But in the end, the audience started to accept it (lol) Why didn't we stop doing OMSK after the first shot ? Well, basically because the costume was so expensive (lol) So we said, we have to make a use of the costume...and we did it again. Then the executives of the jimusho got mad at us (lol) they said "what the heck is that?!" (lol) But the audience's reaction was better because it was the second time (lol) That was our only hope (lol) And i was so glad. So we did it again last year although they got mad at us.....but they stopped saything stuff. So if it's possible, i want to do it again in the future (lol) So maybe we might do it again this year. Whether OMSK will be included in the show is decided by timing, so if there is a gap between a song, we'll say "oh! then....let us do our OMSK" (lol) This year we have a lot of new songs from the album, so im not sure there is space for it though. We don't know until the very end. The stuff we do at OMSK is gets decided last minute too. Our discussion ends in a second, and the choreography is done in few minutes....(lol) But during the real stage we go crazy (lol) After the concert, we'll go back to our restroom and watch the recording of the days show, just the OMSK bit (lol) and we'll be laughing our asses off (lol) I'm happy if OMSK will be like a bonus for Arashi's concert (lol) Do you think that's okay ? When im on stage....im just really happy and having a fun time. I try not to think too much, and see what happens on stage. Every time there is a concert, i just go up on stage and feel how its like. But the first day and the last day might be special. The first day too, but especially the last day of the concert tour. I think a lot during the last concert. I think to myself..."this is the last...there's no other chance for me to do this concert again". So i'm even excited before it starts. A live concert is very different from a butai, because there's the five of us. Every time there is a new discovery, and the atmosphere changes according to time and place we do the concert. The time im happiest ? When the concert is over (lol) When the concert ends with no injury im relieved and thank the staff. It feels great because im all sweaty, and i had tons of fun during the concert. The happiest time on stage is when i "wow" the audience. If the strategy we discussed a million times go well, it feels great. And also when the fans look happy, i feel great as well. I want to make every fan look happy, and i want to have direct contact with every fan ! So i watch the audience a lot. All the time. So i notice people who comes to the concert a lot ! I remember their uchiwa's, and recently i also remember their faces. When im singing, I think "oh thats the girl with that uchiwa..." (lol) Of course i remember people who comes to the concert a lot! I remember you guys ! (lol) I feel happy if the fans are happy. I think arashi is looking foward to the concert more than the fans do (lol) I'm probably looking forward to it the most (lol) I can't wait for it to start. This year, i'll look foward seeing you guys again, and ill be watching you, so you have to have fun ! LOOK AT ME TOO! don't forget to look at ohno satoshi ! (lol) Don't forget to watch all the members of ARASHI ! (lol)

I Like ATTAINMENT
To be on a movie made by the famous Clint Eastwood, Ninomiya Kazunari went to the US for 2months and came back.
We expected a great change, but the guy infront of us right now is the same "nino", sarcastic as ever.
And right next to him is a portable video game player....even the great hollywood cannot change ninomiya's style.
Of course being so clever, ninomiya must have experienced and learned new things.....but who cares, its his experience and his memories.
he will talk about it in the future, when he feels like it. This "nino-ism" was shown throughout the interview, such as comments like
"im doing this job just because i want to be popular from girls" (lol)
"I like the feeling of attainment and reaching the goal" - as he says, to fufill that desire, he says he has to "go to the next stage....and climb every wall i can"......i wonder what kind of path he is going to take in the future.
The attainment that fufills me, after i reach a goal. That's what im always looking for, and what i desire
what do i like ? let me see.....i guess i like the feeling when im finished doing something. that feeling is what i desire. It depends on that person, but for me, when i reach my goal, it feels great. For my, my goals directly connect to my job, and im also responsible to reach the goal because its my job, but thats okay. i can just be responsible for it. im not a teenager/underaged anymore, so of course i have to take responsibility of my own job. so it doesn't matter whether or not my personal goals and my job goals overlap. comments like "im going to work hard because im the main cast" isn't acceptable after you turn 20. if an adult says "im going to work hard on my job..." the normal reaction is "of course!". This year i was able to go to the states.....but the audition for that movie overlapped the first day of shooting for the drama i was filming at the sametime. The first day of shooting is probably the most important day of the whole shooting process....because it was the first day, the directors told me they wanted to film a lot that day, and i would do so myself if i was a director.....but i couldn't because i had to go to the audition. even how good the actor, its really important to see how the actor takes on the role, so they have to film alot on the first day. they also would want to see the filming crew's reaction and communication. but i had to ask them to cut some scenes we were going to take on that day. and that, normally isn't welcomed. people normally think "this is why i don't want to cast an idol for a role". but that drama cast and the crew were really nice people, and they told me to go and do my best and wished me luck. and that, changed me. i thought to my self, "i have to get this role". for the sake of those people who i troubled. I asked them for their time, and also asked them to cut some scenes, for the important first day to set the atmosphere of the whole drama shooting. it was a personal favor, and it could be taken as being selfish. but then they still let me go to the audition. so i thought i have to get the role for the movie. so when i got the role and that was on the newspapers, i thought it would be nice if that helped for the promotion of the drama....like "oh that guy who's going to the states is going to be on the drama?". ....yeap....that was what i hoped for.
I loved the feeling of reaching a goal since i was a kid. Playing RPG games is a great example. You can save the world you know ! (in the game). And people (in the game) treat you like god !!!! It you save the world. and people thankyou like mad. thats what i love about RPG games.....if thats whats happening in reality ? i'd probably go (lol) to save the world (lol) Basically, im under this feeling that "i want to be popular" (lol) so for example, if people say "please, help us, our daughter is going to be eaten tomorrow by the bad beast", "please help!", and if there was nothing i could do, i'd probably say "okay, fine, i'd be eaten by the beast for her". Isn't that kakkoii ?! (lol) im that type of guy. i'd probably be like that until i die. I want to be a hero, and i can't stop myself from acting so. most people choose the easy way, thats not the same for me. i choose the pathway that makes me more popular (lol) its neither "popular" or "not popular" (lol) "kakkoii!" or "not kakkoii". i'll probably choose straight away.....or no.....wait....ill think for a while, and choose to be eaten by the beast (lol)
the desire to be "popular" is never fufilled right ? even if you are popular at a certain degree, if you don't loose the desire to be more popular, you will never reach your goal. because i've heard that rich people will never think "im rich enough"...right ? so it goes the same for popularity. there's always someone in a higher position than you. If you reach a certain level that you have been wanting to reach, ur expectations will grow accordingly. You won't think "AH! im too popular now!" would you ? (lol) There isn't an end, to something you truly love. Or maybe, i should say that i love things that don't have an end to. acting is the same too. Even when you are done with something, you still have the next level to reach, so there isn't an end. i think so. i think every one has their own way to feel the satisfaction of reaching their goal. for example, there are people who love to be in sporting competitions right ? and they cry with joy or cry with devastation after their games.....thats probably another way of satisfaction of attainment....its just that i don't have any interest in joing a sporting event (lol) but i do feel great when i know i've reached a cretain goal or a level. That satisfaction, make me have a higher expectation, which makes me try even harder. "to the next level ! next level !". I want to feel good even more. thats why i desire attaiment, and yearn for it. thats what happening inside me.

I need "freshness" in concerts. I think about what kind of strategy will make the concert look new for the fans who have been watching us.
concerts...are fun. It's fun, and its one of those things that makes me fufilled too. its probably because its one of the very rare occasion where i can interfere with the fans. there isn't a better occasion to listen to their voice too. for example, when we peform a song from the album, the reaction is so different between the songs the fans like, and the fans dont really care (lol) we can see those reactions very clearly, so i like it.
Doing a concert is a way for arashi to express themselves. Don't take this wrong, but "arashi" has their weakness, and the concert stage is a place where we can just forget about that, and say "we're standing here, and this is us". When we were first told that we were going to do a concert with the five of us, i really felt that way. Because at the beginning, it was really like that. For example i said "okay, i can sorta play the guitar so ill go ahead and perform it", and someone else said "ill dance because i like dancing." So we were only able to give in to the concert by doing something we can do. But that changed, and now i just think we should just have fun in it. So people who actually direct the stage and think of the music list, would think a lot about the technical stuff, but i don't. I'm rather a "audience". I just watch people talk about the show, and if it seems like they are having fun, im okay with it. But also as a "performer", i will follow to whatever thats been decided, and i will do my best to make the stage in best condition.
On the stage ? of course im having fun ! but you have to remember....there are 2 or 3 people in our group that goes absolutely crazy on stage (lol) So i look around, and try to fit in whereevers open. And of course im watching the audience thinking....."are they having fun?" and also thinking "god, its steaming in here (lol)". To say the truth, i don't really remember about the concert. I need "freshness" in live shows like concerts and stage plays. So im rather thinking how to make the stage different everytime. So for example, i don't spend my time a lot in the makeup room/rest room in the theater. If theres no one visiting after the play, i almost go home immedietly. If i were to go out with the stage crew, i'd hurry them up so i can leave the place and minute. I don't want to get used to the "air" of the theatre. And thats the same for concerts. Because both concerts and butais have direct contact with the audience right ? To feel the happieness and to feel "fun" every second on stage, i need to be "new" to the theater or what ever stage im going to do the concert. That might be the reason i forget about the concert after its done. I don't even want to spend too much time rehersing for the concert. When i get to the stage, i just want to reherse straight away. I don't really need to strech or get ready....if i need to, ill go do it elsewhere......You think i have good agility ? well, i think i have to be that way in a sense. So we don't stop and think too much. especially someone like me. I'm probably really fast with memorizing the choreography and the list of songs we are going to perform....of course, how long do you think i've been doing this job ? (lol) But that depends on the individual, so i understand that some people need to reherse for a long time, but if i don't feel a need to reherse, i say "im going home!" and i leave (lol) Because you can go home if you memorize the choreography. But some people remain to discuss the chorepgrapy and stuff.....but that doens't mean that our view to the concert is different. It also doesn't mean i don't like it. It's just my way of doing things.
About concerts.........well, i think a johhnys concert is becoming a big business and a industry. So big things happen and a lot of people work for it. It's like making your dream come true. For example last year's moving stage. It took time for us to prove that the stage wasn't dangerous, but it was much harder for the staff to work under us. I bet they had such a hard time. I think a pionneer of an area must be confident of themselves. If they have doubt in themselves, people won't follow. So you have to think "its okay, we're doing the right thing." That moving stage, we didn't know if we can use it or not until the day before the opening day of the concert. But on that day, we had to prove to the officials from Osaka prefecture that it was absolutely safe for us to use the stage. I noticed how hard it was to do something for the first time. During last years countdown concert, that stage was used and im sure a lot of the people who were there saw the stage for the first time. But i think arashi fans just thought "oh ~ long time no see!" (lol) I felt that way too. It was.......3 month after the concert ? But it felt longer than that. And the surprizing thing is that they had three of them (lol) But looking at people amazed by that stage, i realize what a big thing we have done. so if we decide to do something like that again, im sure we will work to make that "dream" come true. Im up for anything if people can have fun with it. Nothing is decided yet for this years concert, but thats the only thing i hope. I wish people will have fun at this years concert.

JUN MATSUMOTO
After having a period with "just the four of us", i have a feeling that our views towards "ARASHI" and "being with the five of us" will drastically change this summer.....
I Like COLORS
His unique sence of beauty and his strong sence of professionality - features of Matsumoto Jun has often been described by cold and mechanical words.
But that is starting to change. He had a hard time coming up with the answer to the theme "what i like", questioning himself "maybe its ......no........maybe not.....", trying to come up with a word that will describe what he "likes". During that process, he starts asking people around him "what is my public image?......i don't even know my self (lol)" and starts to laugh.
It is very "matsumotojun like" to come up with "color" as something he likes, but during the interview, "changes" of matsumotojun is discussed.
His straight foward seriousness never changed, leading him to progress slowly taking the dangerous path.
"I like colors which are a bit worn out and dirty, but strong." - don't you think this is a very jun-like way to express his way of "progressing"?
I'm very good with pure colors. I like rusty and strong colors.
What i like ? its really hard to find a similarity between things i like.....maybe something unbalanced, something thats not the same, something that resembles "rock" (lol)
Obviously, the above will be just from my point of view....but i think "rock" is close to what i like. Something thats edgy......sharp......something thats out of the line. Maybe im just different with normal people....(lol) i like things that are unique and filled with originality. yeah.....

The other thing i like is "color". Therefore i should talk about iroiro na things (lol). (*color = iro in japanese. iroiro means a lot of different things....jun was just playing with words lol) well, i always had colors i like, but recently, i noticed that i started liking the colors i used to hate. I used to not like colors like brown and gray. I liked colors like black and white, very obvious colors right ? and gray seemed dull for me, standing in the middle of those two strong colors. But i started liking it bit by bit during these few years......an brown too. i can relax around brown now. I didn't like colors like green and brown, colors that will resemble nature. but somehow i love green now (lol) I bought a green air refreshener the other day (lol) but the colors i like never changes....black red purple....i especially liked red and white. blue and black too. I think people have their own color too. I sometimes go for white...but i definetly like people with the colors red and black. I think people with thoese colors are "edgy". but like i said, even people wise, i've started liking all the colors. now i get along with people with different colors. but i don't really connect with people with gentle and vague colors. It doesn't mean i don't get along with them, but i don't have anything in common. They are nice and gentle....but not enough for me (lol) My color is probably a strong primary color plus a extra shiny glitter topcated (lol) The reason why im not very keen on vauge colors is that, i have this image that vauge colors arn't dirty.....if you go through rough times, without noticing, colors get dirty. and if colors are mixed with other colors, it also won't become pale or vague. in that sense, i don't like vague colors. I like colors that are a bit worn out and dirty. so it doesn't mean that i just like bright colors, but i like colors with strength and taste. the reason why i've managed to accept colors like green and brown is the same. Now i can accept those colors as their own uniqueness. And although i don't love the color gray, i can now accept it. So i sometimes do like gentle and vague colors too....because of its own uniquness and i like how its a soft color. but if the vagueness is from the result of a mixture of different colors......i don't like it. and i also don't want to be like that....

i think jobs have different colors too. well, not exactly....i think i change my color, during different jobs. I have to change my colors to fit the role for the job. For example, i have this image that variety show jobs are yellow, orange.....light colors. For acting jobs....like movies butais dramas, i change my color according to the role i get. I change my color so i fit the role and the whole production. Its not what color i want, but changing my own color at the time so it will become something i want to achive during the acting. I add or subtract different colors to my self on my palette.
I think people's color change according to their emotions. People would have their strongest "main" color, and that color will change according to their emotional up and downs. It might also change on different days.....and thats the interesting bit. If people have a color they want to be, im sure they can change it and become that color. And i think thats great. Don't you think so ? i think another great part about colors is that its the same for everyone in the world. Feelings and point of view change within different people, but purple is always purple for everyone. its something that won't change within different people. So when i see something or some people with nice colors, i feel happy and it influences me. On the other hand, i love having a colorful side, and a monochrome (white and black) side of my self. Its the same for us five, arashi, and the audience who comes to watch the concert. Everyone has their own color. And that mixes to make a new color every year, and creates a different show every year. And that influences each other.....mixes.....and thats the good part about doing a concert.

(comment: at first i was thinking....what the heck is jun talking about colors all the way through ? and at last i thought....ahhhh ! *ding* this boy is deep lol)

this years concert...i have a lot in mind, but i can't say right now because im not sure if its going to really happen. if i reflect on last years concert, we made it compact, and the moving stage was new, and i guess we could call it a success. We concentrated on the speed and the tempo of the whole concert last year. So rather than making one song long, we had a list of songs bombarting.....trying to not make the audience bored. To make the flow of the concert good, we used....although this sounds wrong....songs we just used for the sake of making the flow good...but this year, because we already have so many things we want to include in the concert, i don't this its necessary for us to put a huge weight on the flow of the concert. I think a little "gap" between songs will also fit in.
This year, there was a period where arashi was with just the four of us....without nino. That experience was new, and changed us in a good way. I was happy for him from the bottom of my heart...think about it....my group member is going to the US ! its more than just a big deal. and its not like we lost nino because he did something bad, rather it was because he did something great, and that made the four of us be able to work as a x5 when there is only the four of us. and im sure the other members felt that too.
This is just about myself, but on the last day of last years summer tour, i heard about the "hanayori dango" drama. and that lead to "boku wa imouto ni koi wo suru" and the butai "byakuya no valkure"......which made me separated from the group members for most of this year. and on top of that nino went to LA......so starting from the release of "kitto daijyoubu", us five spent a lot of time together. this sudden gap changed the view of my "arashi" and the importance to be together with the five of us. This summer, as usual, we are with the same old five of us (lol) but i have a feeling that our views are changed.
I think concerts are the best way to get contact with our fans directly. To be honest, we barely have the time to get together to do a concert once a year schedule wise. but we look foward to it because he have a great time, and i hope our fans will gather for the occasion to fun together. Us arashi also get power from the fans by doing concerts. But this is hard to explain but.......i like making concerts that attracts the audience by just watching....i like the idea of creating a concert with the fan and im sure thats another way to create a concert....but i feel a responsibility to create a concert that makes the audience to think "how fun ! i want to join the fun!" rather than make them feel "i have to join the concert so it will be more fun". And in that sense, i think last year was very successful. i think we made a stage good enough that attracts the audience by just watching. I think there is a need for a concert to be like that. Otherwise it will be boring. There should be a point where we "show" the audience our dance, and there should also be a point where we dance "with" the audience. So i think there is always a need for subjective view of the whole concert stage. Don't you think so too? Im really scared of the concert being arashi's selfsatisfaction. And also another thing i have to be careful is that....we can't be used to the fact that the seats are always filled and a lot of people come to watch the show. Its not about how many people come to watch us....its important that someone wants to watch our concert. and for that sake, we make our concerts different every year. We have to make it like that, and we will never think of making a similar concert how successful it is. Maybe theres 10 encore songs.....i think a "surprise" factor is always necessary. Thats why its so fun to create a concert, and if my idea fits..........its great. So when i sang "sakura sake" last year (* sakura sake was the first song they used the moving stage) IT FELT SO GOOD...and my tension was at max (lol) Last years first day of the concert started from osaka hall, and we were still between the lines of whether or not to use the moving stage. I'm very sorry for the people from osaka hall, but we pushed and pushed to use the moving stage. They were saying "its impossible" to use the stage, but we said "please, let us build up the stage...then see whether or not we can use it". All the staff and the security were watching....while we went on stage and we explained how it wasn't dangerous. It was decided that if we couldn't use it at osaka hall, we weren't going to use it at all. so it was a bet. And we were still debating about it with the osaka hall staff until the first day of concert.....we talked among us that if it was a "no", then we just have to accept it. But the osaka hall staff and the Osaka prefecture officials also said it was okay to use it......so when we used it for the first time at the first concert....even we weren't really sure how the audience will react......We finished singing "jidai"....and the stage rose.......and i was thinking to myself "the stage rising....not a big surprise.....the real surprise is from here!".....and the stage moved.....and i can't forget the experssions on the face of the fans....."what the heck..." "something huge is coming towards us...." (lol) i was so happy ! I'm not sure it will be a big suprise like last year, but we intend to do something surprising this year as well. I don't think we're going to do something fancy with the set this year....but im sure the solo's will be different, as how the album is unique this year.

The most important thing is that people come to watch us - and its not about how many people. If there weren't any audience, there won't be us, and we won't be trying to make the show happen. And if i can make the audience move with what i create, thats my pleasure and joy. yeah.....i want to make a concert that makes people be touched....i want to make their hearts move. Not just our looks and our visual, and not just with the hyper tension. Using the choreographic, entertainment strategy as a director of the show, i want to make people impressed. everyyear, we try our best to reach this goal. I think people come with different reasons....."want to have fun" "want to be refreshed" "want to make a good memory with a friend" ....and some people just come for the sake of watching us.....and if fans gather to see us with different reasons, im really happy and so i feel that i have to make a great concert that fufill their wants.

MASAKI AIBA
"I like.....people. Before, i had to have some time alone. Now, i've learned not to keep everything on my sholders. Maybe.....I matured ? (lol)"
I Like, PERSON, HUMAN BEING.
Unlike the other members who had a hard time talking about the theme "I Like....", this guy, Aiba Masaki, immedietly answered "People! I like people!".
His ability to instantly comeup with a briliant idea, always surprises us. His unique words spoken during concert MC's and variety shows are always what people never expect of, and it is always filled with his charm. And his "charm", is the biggest reason why he "likes people", and how he makes "people like him".
As Arashi members started to work on their individual works, Aiba' talent showed great success in the variety show area. It seems like he learned a lot from his great senpai "shimura ken", and what he learned has also given a good influence on arashi.
Aiba explained his change such as learning to "not to keep everything on my sholders", which was probably due to meeting people outside "arashi", and learning to cope with them.
Aiba said "its sad that im so matsured now....(lol)", but during the process, he never lost his charm.
I like people! I LIKE HITO (people) I think i've learned to cope with other people.
I like people! really, i do. Unless there is a major reason, i manage to like most people. When i used to be younger.....since i my blood type is AB.........i had to have some time on my own. After work, there were times i didn't want to go out with people to socialize.....But now, i'd rather go. (lol) I don't know what changed me...I think people just change suddenly.....so i learned to open my heart to other people, without being scared. Im not sure....but i think people call this "maturing" (lol) ......You think so too? (lol) I can't tell from other people's perspective, but i personally think i've changed. I think my blood type changed (lol)
The people around me all really nice people. But being nice in person, and actually working with them is different...........there's a lot going on, and things can't be settled with just being "nice". But i still look foward to work because of those people i meet through work. For example, just going to one tv programe shoot, theres a lot happening. There's the director, who's in charge of the program. And theres also "us" or "me", who's going to be on the program. And the director is responsible for making a good VTR, handling the back stage of the program. And on the other side, im responsible for the "front side" which goes out to the public. So i started to talk with them on how to make the program good, from two different perspectives.....even yesterday, i was with this guy from work....until 5:00AM (lol).....well its not like we always talk about work, and yesterday we were just having fun....(lol) Another example.......like for the shooting of "shimura doubutsuen", during the shooting, we never talk about work seriously. Thats our way of showing trust for each other. Both sides have this picture in mind of what we want to create, and thats exactly the same, so theres no need to talk about it. I love this relationship of trust between the staff. It wasn't like this from the beginning tho. At first, i wasn't thinking about anything, and i just did what the staff told me to do. But now its diffrent. That's why i started to hang out with them even out side work. Its fun working with them. And i learn a lot from them. I love variety shows. Im starting to like it more and more.

While nino was in LA, for the first time we experienced arashi with just the four of us.......and it felt weird......and it was tough. I mean, it never happened during this 6years..... Doing a variety show with just the 4 of us, was also very hard. But we handled it, and we did out best with the five of us. Because i started doing variety shows on my own, i want to learn more.....i learn by talking with shimura-san. I also talked to taichi-kun the other day, and he told me that "i have to relax more" (lol) and thats very true. When im on shows, im just.....thinking about one thing, and theres no room for anything else. And taichi-kun told me that the viewers can notice that. But he also said thats my good part. Right now, im just thinking about one thing, and not looking around.....so if u punch me now from the side, i'll knock out (lol) But i think thats okay for now............................(to him self).........wow....i matured so much.....how sad (lol)

In my private life, i also love to be around people. During the movie shoot, i loved how i always spent time with the members. You'd rather eat with a lot of people then eat lonely right ? i think its the same. Its more fun when a lot of people are around doing the same thing ! And i also noticed that i like watching people like that, having fun.
Maybe i learned a good way to spend time with people. I used to be bad at it............people with AB bloodtype isn't really good at it you know....(lol) I used to just keep everything inside my self, but now ive started to open up........
My hobby ? playing golf ! i love golf ! it might be because i play golf with people i like. also, i like golf because u have to use ur mind a lot......but then again, if you think too much of what you're going to do next, it influences the shot. I try not to think too much.......but like most people, i think too much........and i mess up. I really stopped playing during one game, and just left......but i come back again because i feel frustrated that i can't be good at it. I started golf to socialize, but now im loving it.

I think people get stressed out during their lives.......and i wish arashi's concert will be a place where people can just dump their stress and forget about the bad stuff.
I sometimes dream of being in a concert.....and this happens every now and then. And i've always wondered why............so during my radio program, i had a same question from my listener saying "why do people dream" ? and so during the radio program we researched why people dream. According to that we found, people dream to tidy up their memory.....like...."oh yeah....this happened.....so maybe this will happen too....zzz" (lol) So, if im dreaming of myself panicing in a concert, that means im worrying about that acutally happening. And me dreaming of these kinda stuff shows that..........im actually thinking about stuff (lol) Without noticing, im actually spending sometime thinking about the concert.....so when i heard this, i thought, "although im having such a fun time during the concert,at the same time i was acutally really worried about it as well". And this concert dream, theres this weird pattern to it. One moment, the concert will be going great and im having a good time.........then all of a sudden im panicing and something has gone wrong......i guess its the process of clearing my mind ? yeap! so scientifically dreaming is tiding up memories. but u can't really say for everyone tho...............the actual happenings in my concert dream ? i don't really remember..............i guess the cleaning of the memory didn't go too well........oops! (lol)

A few days ago, i watched last years concert dvd which is going to be in the album.....and we looked really fun in it !I think arashi's songs are really catchy, and those kinda songs are good for concerts. So when i saw the dvd, i thought "wow, i want to do this again".........making a concert is really hard and it needs work, but im up for it! the fun during the concert will cover it up! it might be because of the season too! Summer ! I think out of all the work i've done, i like concerts the most. I mean, you cant really rank the jobs because its a totally different experiece, but i think im having the most fun during concerts. And also, as a idol/singer, its a joy for me to be able to do a concert. and the difference between other jobs and concerts is that.............its all "arashi's" from beginning to end. for example, a movie will also be the directors work, and a show will be the belonging of the producer and the director........but our concert is ours. And we have the responsibility for its success. Thats why its so fun.
And i guess the atmosphere of the concert is really good.........thesedays i always hear bad news like children killing their own parents.....and the world is filled with those sad news.....but even in those situations, going to concerts will be a good rest for people. When i went to sho-kun and ohno-kun's concert as a "viewer" of the concert, all the audience had this look on their faces like they were having the best time. I think people are always stressed with something in their life. even the happiest people would have somekind of worry. but during concerts......people jsut forget about it (lol) they scream, they sing.....they look like idiots....(lol) but i can definetly tell that they are having fun ! and i feel really proud that im a member of a group that can make people be like that. well, to say the truth, during the concerts its not like we can see all the faces of the fan, and i feel sorry about that (lol) but when i visited sho-kun and ohno-kun's solo concert, for the first time i was able to watch the faces of the audience from another perspective......and i was really happy of what i saw. I really think people need a place for them to just dump what they have on mind. It could be other people's concerts, and other stuff........but i'd be honoured if that place is arashi's concert.
concert is different from watching us on tv............also different from watching the live dvd.............its the smell and the sound..........you just get this feeling that all your senses are at max.......so i believe its our duty to continue doing live concerts, and at the same time, us arashi are "dumping" whatever thats on our mind thats stressing us out.

oh yeah....this was a letter to my radio program, from a mother of a 3 years old..........this kid tries to immitate what i do...........and during this noon tv show, i did HG's pose....which might be a little sexual....lol and the mother told me she is concerned with her kid immitating that as well (lol)
this made me really happy. i was happy that my behavior influeces other people....and at the same time, i really thought that i have to be aware of that.
I feel really thankful to my fans.....so i feel happy that i can give back on what i recive from them, during the period of the concert.....im not just doing the concert because its my job. its not even a "job" for me...its what i want to do. so even i make a mistake.....well, its not good to mess up the dance....i just cant stop laughing cuz its so fun!
this years concert....theres so much to memorize...the song list, lyrics....dance....but im going to do it! im going to ganbaru! so let's have fun together!

I think theres no need for people to burst out their stress by doing something crazy......they just have to have a good place to dump it out....im not saying that im one of those people who never walk out of like......im rather always out of line (lol)........but i just dont want people to keep it inside themselves all the time. so everyone, join us, and lets have good time together!

ninomiya: we were on our arashi-car waiting to go to the next place to work, and another big van stopped near by and people told us that there was someone we knew inside, so we waved at the car not knowing who it was. we opened the door wide open and streched our arms out waving "waaaa--------i wa--------i"
sakurai: and then sakamotokun called saying "what the heck are you guys doing sticking ur arms out of a car in the middle of a public road ?!"
ninomiya: and we also found out that the car we were waving to wasn't even the car sakamoto-kun was on, so we were waving to a total stranger.....
