On Saturday the 14th at 4AM UTC/GMT we will be upgrading the operating system of our network load balancers to a newer version, one that will allow us to use both CPUs! Nifty, because multiprocessing is nice.

Since we have 2 load balancers, the plan is to upgrade 1 at a time, and there really should be very little impact to our website. Hopefully you won't notice a thing and I'll get to go back to the hotel and watch some wonderful late night infomercials.

We've got a lot of exciting projects coming up for 2010 and we're hoping that we'll be able to deliver them all to you, that you will find it useful/cool/lovely and then you will use the site even more. Behind-the-scenes work like this will give us the capacity to handle the anticipated traffic, so expect a few more maintenance windows especially in the beginning of next year as we've got some neat ideas to improve performance around here! We had the recent 30-45 minute outage yesterday due to one of our logging databases filling up disk space -- not so great design coupled with my human error in handling the initial problem -- and it looks like we're going to finally have some resources to eliminate stuff like that. I can't wait!

As usual, I will be updating status.livejournal.org before and after, just in case you are not able to reach our main website during the work.

I got a mail from cdjapan.co.jp today and it says that arashi will release a new photobook. It will come as a regular and a limited edition. The description says "Book features Arashi's 10th anniversary concert tour. Comes with bonus photo.". But uhm already a photobook of their 10th anniversary tour?

My question is now, is it official or not? I really don't know... hope somebody in this community knows the answer.

Its me.

The other day, I had an off-day.

That would probably have been my last off day for this year.

I wonder what I should do....

So, I did some careful deliberation the day before.

Should I go shopping?...

Or watch a movie?

What should... I do......

Let's go to Kyoto!





............... or maybe not.

I shall go home to the countryside!!

So I made up my mind.

I have not been able to visit my grandparents at all this year.

The way things are, I might not be able to go and say Hi to them at all this year.

So I made up my mind, and decided to hurry up to go and see them.

The next day, I rang them　up.


Grandson:

'OK, I am going to see you guys now.'


Grandmother:
'... Eh?'


Grandson:
'I am leaving for your place now.'

Grandmother:

'Eh!? Be careful on your way here.'


So with the conversation left hanging there, i got into the car and rushed off.

After a few hours, I reached my grandparents' home.

Grandmother:
'Eh..? You are alone?'

Grandson:
' Yes, I am alone.'

Ah.  right/.

This is the first time I have gone to my grandparents by myself.

So we sat in the living room, drinking tea, talking about things that were happening recently. It's been some time since I spoke to my grandparents

But it was the first time, I was alone like that.

Somehow, it felt very strange.

Whilst i was there, a door-to-door salesperson called on my grandmother.

I could hear the conversation going on at the hallway whilst I was sitting in the living room.

Salesperson:

'Did you say that your grandson is an entertainer?'


Grandmother:

'Yes'


Salesperson:
' Did you say he is a singer?'


Grandmother:
'Yes'


Salesperson
' Drama? Hmm? Drums??Ah, did u say he does dramas?'

Grandmother:
'Yes... well...'

' I do all types of drama'

I almost wanted to retort from the living room.

How should I convey such information?

Apart from this incident, the rest of the time spent with them went by leisurely.

In the afternoon, whilst drinking tea, I talked with my grandparents.

In the evening, I had dinner with my relatives. Its been too long since I last met them, so we had alot of catching up to do. It was really an enjoyable time. 

'this was my 'big purchase' (ie gain) on my off day' 

Of course, i didnt buy anything. 

I felt that I spent that day in a rich and fulfilling way.

Dear and I were discussing how my life can be made into a K-drama with all the airport and hospital visits. Cliche settings are cliche. Like what I previously said, I would take visiting the airport any day over the hospital but...

It always seem there is a specific concentrated period of visits to either place happening.

The latest reason to visit the hospital would be for my grandmother who suddenly could not feel her arm and they said there is a possibility of a blood clot so she is scheduled for surgery soon. Please pray all goes well.

My bil is suffering from the adult version of HFMD which he contracted from my two nieces. Not nice! Pray he gets well soon.

As dear said, "You're Beautiful" is so cliche, you get sucked into the terribleness of it. You have to watch it at least ONCE because you would probably never repeat the drama. Right Go Mi Nam? I melt every time hyungnim says it in that deep, velvety voice of his. And Shin Woo-hyung is kyaaaaaaaaaa-worthy!

The only thing lacking from my K-drama (as zu pointed out) is the number of male leads. Well, I have my harem so that accounts for something right? But where is the real 2-3 men fighting for my affection???

whenever i have afternoon naps, I always end up with the weirdest dreams

I dreamt I saw MC Yoo in some building and I asked him for a photo, we ended up with a couple of failed shots...then we suddenly ended up in this neoprint booth, and he was very tired and ended up sleeping on my shoulder. Anyways, the feeling when I was with him was the same feeling I had when I dreamt of my good guy friend a few years ago...it's like this is the kind of guy I should be with if I wanna be happy, but somehow I am never attracted to them, in that way...

I still end up with the bad boys, or arty boys with issues, young-boys-who-only-wanted-my-money...I think I should have a more open heart...like if anyone asks me out for a date, I should just agree, regardless of whether I am attracted to them.

anyways, breaking news! Haha and his girlfriend, broke up after a 5 yr relationship. Felt sad for the both of them because I really thot they were gonna get married...just like how I thought Kim Jong Min would get married to his that hot girlfriend too...oh well...and I realised that Jong Min and Haha would back from the army next year! Yaaay!

I have edited my last entry of the translation to match up with the lyrics in the booklet.
There was even more Engrish than I thought *Sho!fail!*....

I just thought I'd share it! And I welcome any suggestions on how to make the translation run smoother!
